Our Story

In 1999, Prof. Carmelo Pappalardo and his wife moved by an original and passionate idea, decided to establish the Trecastagni International Music Festival.
The Festival wants to promote high quality classical music in the picturesque little village of Trecastagni, located between the Mediterranean Sea and Mount Etna. Inspired by the magical atmosphere and the perfect acoustic of Largo Abate Ferrara, a historical square overlooked by a stoned staircase and the 15th Century church dedicated to San Nicola, the festival delights its guests during the mild Sicilian summer nights.
Since its foundation, more than a hundred local and international artists have performed on the stage of the festival, accurately mixing passion and technique but always catching the favor of the audience. The presence of people from all over the world, the meeting of different cultures and styles donate to the festival its uniqueness.
Trecastagni International Music Festival offers every year unforgettable concerts. From chamber music ensemble to the magic of piano solos, including opera nights and traditional music exhibitions such as Flamenco or Fado.
After almost twenty years of history, undoubtedly the Festival can be considered a unique arena where ideas, feelings and passions reunite together every summer.
